Oyen covers your pet when they're sick or hurt, so a check-up on a healthy pet isn't covered. The moment your vet finds something and starts investigating it, the tests and treatment for that are reviewed as a claim.
| Situation | Covered? |
|---|---|
| Consultation because your pet is unwell | ✅ Yes |
| Blood test, X-ray or scan the vet orders because of symptoms | Reviewed as a claim |
| Follow-up test to check a covered illness is getting better | ✅ Generally yes |
| Yearly check-up with no symptoms | ❌ No |
| Yearly blood, urine, X-ray or scan just to screen a healthy pet | ❌ No |
| Check-up finds something, vet orders more tests | ✅ Reviewed as a claim, unless it's pre-existing or excluded |
| Vaccines, deworming, flea and tick prevention | ❌ No |
| Health check before signing up | Not needed |
Ask your vet to write the symptoms or finding, and why they ordered each test, on the report or invoice. That's what shows the claims team a test was medically needed and not routine.

The check-up itself isn't covered. The tests and treatment for the lump are reviewed as a claim for that condition, unless it's pre-existing or excluded. Ask your vet to write the finding on the report.
