Is [condition] covered? Quick answers on common conditions

Here are quick answers on a few conditions we're often asked about 💛

A gentle heads-up first: these are only general guidelines. Every claim is assessed fairly and individually, based on how the illness or accident happened and your pet's own condition and health history. So there's no blanket rule, and these examples are general guidance rather than guarantees.

🦷 Dental Dental treatment is generally only covered if it's due to an accident (for example, a tooth broken in a fall). Routine dental such as cleaning, scaling, and gum disease usually isn't covered.

🐾 Parvovirus & tick fever These are generally not covered. Parvovirus is a vaccine-preventable disease (excluded under the policy, along with rabies and canine distemper), and tick-borne conditions usually fall under parasite-related exclusions.

🐱 Skin allergies Skin allergies are generally claimable, as long as they're not pre-existing (meaning your furkid wasn't already showing signs before coverage started or during the waiting period). Note that supplements, special shampoos, and special diets aren't covered even if recommended by your vet.

Since every case is looked at individually, if you're not sure about a specific condition, just ask us and we'll check it against your plan 🐾
