What does third party liability insurance cover?

Third party liability covers you if your pet injures another person or damages someone else's property, and you are found legally responsible. Cats and dogs are covered differently, and there is an excess, which is the first amount you pay yourself, on each claim.

For cats:

  • Basic: no third party liability cover
  • Plus: up to RM10,000, with a RM1,000 excess per claim
  • Champion: up to RM30,000, with a RM1,000 excess per claim

For dogs, not applicable to banned or restricted breeds:

  • Basic: up to RM5,000, with a RM500 excess per claim
  • Plus: up to RM30,000, with a RM1,000 excess per claim
  • Champion: up to RM50,000, with a RM1,000 excess per claim

Example: if your dog on a Plus plan causes RM4,000 of damage, you pay the first RM1,000 excess and the policy covers the rest, up to the plan limit.
