No, Oyen isn't lifetime cover. Cats and dogs can join from 12 weeks to 10 years old, and keep renewing every year with no break while they're 13 or younger. Once they turn 14, the policy can't be renewed.
| Your pet's age | Can they join? | Can they renew? |

| Under 12 weeks | Not yet | |
| 12 weeks to 10 years | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes |
| Over 10, already insured with no break | ✅ Yes, while 13 or younger | |

For example, a 6-year-old Pomeranian can keep renewing until they turn 14. Luxating patella won't be covered for them, but a new bladder infection, kidney problem or broken leg would be.
Each year our insurer MSIG reviews the premium and terms before inviting you to renew, and we'll send you the details at least 30 days before your policy ends.
No. Cats and dogs can join up to 10 years old. If your cat is already insured with us and you've renewed every year with no break, they can keep renewing while they're 13 or younger. Once they turn 14, the policy can't be renewed.
Yes. You can renew while your pet is 13. Once they turn 14, the policy can't be renewed.
Not necessarily every year. Your premium is based on your pet's age band (and breed for dogs), their claims and vet costs, so it moves when your pet enters a new age band. Annual plans with no claims get a No Claim Discount of 5%, 10% or 15%.
Yes, if it started while your pet was covered and you renew on time with no break. Your premium may change, or a deductible may be added, because of the claims. If the policy lapses, that condition becomes pre-existing and is no longer covered.
As young as possible, and before 6. Pets can join from 12 weeks. Joining before 6 means the 6 covered hereditary conditions can be covered after 12 months, and fewer things will count as pre-existing.
