Membela Kucing Semasa Anda Hamil (Risiko, Cara Mengatasi, dan Mitos)

Table of content

Adakah anda sedang hamil?

a. Cara infeksi berlaku

5. Buat ujian darah

Jika anda berasa ragu-ragu, anda digalakkan membuat ujian darah.

Ollie mula kurang sihat

Pandemik Covid-19 melanda dunia, Ollie makin kritikal

Jangka hayat kucing FIP

Attention to all fur parents!

Just like me and you, we love our furry kids to the moon and back and want the best personal and health care for them! But how do you know which pet products are the best pet care in Malaysia? Be it in the form of food, fur shampoo, and other pet care products, there are just too many pet ingredients that we should be avoiding!

Likewise, this also applies to our daily (human) cosmetic care products, and we should be more alert and cautious when choosing the right personal care products for our furry kids (even for ourselves)!

For some of us or our pets, we or they may have sensitive skin prone to allergies, inflammation, and other skin reactions. If this is a frequent issue you are currently facing, then you are on the right track.
In this article, we will be introducing PawPal – Malaysia’s best pet care products, which offer:

  • NATURAL AND PLANT-BASED INGREDIENTS ONLY
  • ANIMAL CRUELTY-FREE
  • CONVENIENCE/ EASY-TO-USE INSTRUCTIONS
  • FREE FROM HARSH CHEMICALS

PawPal No.1 Hot Selling Products– Cat & Dog Repellent Spray

Cats and dogs are affordable for all animal lovers out there, but they are also a handful!
If you are a cat owner, you may be looking at a sad-looking couch in the living room or even scratched expensive leather (speaking from my own experience – ouch!).

Dogs, on the other hand, are super active and require more training than cats. With a repellent spray, you can keep your furry kids away from the couch or certain areas of the kitchen to keep them safe and well-trained to avoid further accidents, especially when you have little humans around.

Instead of bringing out your disciplinarian in you, using a repellent spray is a softer approach to discipline your pets whilst maintaining their well-being too!
On another note, if you are staying on a landed property, a repellent spray could also help keep strays away from your pets avoiding unnecessary stress for yourself and your pets. This also means a disease-free area safe for you and your family.

PawPal’s Cat & Dog Repellent Spray is an effective way to repel and train on certain occasions. Made with a natural active ingredient, EGX-101 derived from a wild tomato plant, it is scientifically proven to do its job for up to 12 hours completely safe to use around animals, babies, and food.

The easiest part? It takes only a few sprays at a designated spot where you want to keep pets away, so you can keep your worries at bay! In doing so, it smells great too with cedar wood fragrance!

Reduce Your Time Cleaning Up After Your Furry Kids With PawPal’s Pet Area Hygiene Collection

Have a friend who’s planning to visit you but has allergies to furry pets?
PawPal’s Pet Allergen Control helps keep your personal environment at home clean, fresh, and free from allergens created by your pets. Allergens are typically found in furry areas as they are trapped in your pet’s fur. From pet dander, proteins in their saliva or urine, and dust and pollen, are common ways allergens are produced.

Simply spray around your home or office to help reduce common pet allergy symptoms among friends and family members. It also helps cats & dogs that have allergies themselves too! With that, you can have more quality time with your paw pals and with others who have difficulties with allergens from furs.

Moreover, furs in general are found everywhere in your home such as T-shirts, pants, dresses, and kitchen clothes. With PawPal’s Laundry Pet Hair Remover, this organic and reusable product in the shape of a ball can help keep your laundry free from pet fur as much as possible. By creating friction, it helps to remove pet furs designed to be gentle on clothes keeping your personal environment clean and free from allergens. For how to use instructions, please refer to the link above.

For a cleaner and fresher personal environment, you could also consider other PawPal’s spray products to help you remove stains and odours, sanitize and deodorise a pet area, and deodorising your cat litter(s) - scented and unscented available.

Here are a few scenarios as to when you should use them:

  1. PawPal Pet Stain and Odor Remover Spray - Cooling Cucumber Scent - When stains and odours are found on hard and soft surfaces caused by urine and defecation. It also discourages your pet to re-soiling the same area.
  1. PawPal Pet Area Sanitizer And Deodoriser Spray  - When you experience bad odours from cages, kennels, pet beds/bedding, toys, litter boxes, and more due to the build-up of nasty bacteria. It provides extra cleanliness and fast-acting sanitizer to kill harmful viruses, parasites, and bacteria.
  1. PawPal Bio-D Cat Litter Deodouriser Spray – Forever Fresh Scent – When foul odours from your cat’s litter box are lingering around in your home. A plant-based and pet-friendly natural green tea fragrance extract to eliminate and neutralize bacteria.
  1. PawPal Cat Litter Deodouriser – Non-Scented Granules – When you need another efficient way to effectively absorb and remove bad odours while drawing moisture away from waste to help clump urine and prolong the period that you can use the litter before needing to replace it, which is suitable for all cat types.

Can’t Stop Itching? Try Out PawPal’s Flea & Tick Control

PawPal’s product range in flea and tick control comes in 3 different forms, which are liquid shampoo, powder, and spray powered by plant-based ingredients and easy-to-use instructions.

Depending on individual preferences, if you are looking for an efficient way to protect your furry kids from fleas and ticks after a walk down in the park or from strays, a long-lasting repellent effect is crucial to prevent infestation from your beloved cats and dogs.

With either of PawPal’s No Rinse Flea And Tick Pet Shampoo - Floral Fresh or Flea And Tick Control Powder  these products are designated to clean and keep your pet’s coat fresh and feeling smooth while also getting rid of bacteria without using any harsh chemicals such as alcohol or parabens. Simply massage it into your pet’s fur without the need for water or rinsing.

It is also a great way to prevent flea and tick infestation in your children, friends, and other family members nearby while eliminating problems for pets who dislike bath time!

Pet Antibacterial And Organic Extracts To Calm Your Furry Kids During Their Bath Time

Last but not least, a good-to-great pet grooming experience for your furry kids is an alternative way to bond better with one another.
We feel you! It is never easy to have bath time in peace!

Some cats or dogs dislike it simply because they don’t have the best experiences. That is why having the best pet grooming products made super easy to use with calming ingredients is a crucial step to having a fun and loving grooming experience. When they are having fun, you are having fun too!

The first step would be to introduce the PawPal Pet No-Rinse Shampoo And Conditioner - Pure Blossom Scent specially designed to hygienically clean, condition, detangle and moisturize both their fur and skin. It also helps to prevent dry and itchy skin with its antimicrobial formula.

If your beloved cats or dogs have open wounds, fret not! PawPal’s Pet Antimicrobial Wound And Skin Care Spray - Nano Silver helps provide an effective way to eliminate harmful microbes and prevent microbial-induced skin conditions and wounds. With its soothing chamomile extract, it also helps to naturally relieve inflamed areas and prevent constant scratching from irritated areas of their skin potentially increasing their chances of skin infection and/or diseases.

odorsTo finish off, either PawPal’s Pet Perfume – Floral Essence or Antibacterial Pet Freshener Spray - Pure Blossom Scent is a great way to end the entire pet grooming journey leaving you a clean and fresh coat of fur that you can purchase at an affordable price free from harmful chemicals.
Want to have that extra cuddly feeling and snuggle up with your furry kids without any foul odors? Try PawPal Today!

The Welsh words "cor" (dwarf, or occasionally, to gather), and "ci" (dog), may have contributed to the name Corgi, while it might alternatively have come from the term for cur. The extremely intelligent Pembroke Welsh Corgi loves living with a human family and being a member of the "pack." Pembrokes are courageous, independent, and very flexible, which makes them excellent watchdogs. They are also devoted.

8. Pug

Pugs are very low maintenance and have a major propensity to gain weight if their nutrition and activity are not regularly monitored. Due to their small muzzles, they struggle in hot, muggy conditions and need to be closely monitored for heatstroke. Due to their narrow muzzles, pugs do have a tendency to snore. Because of how readily they might be hurt, the prominent eyes must be kept moist.
To help with their weight issues, pugs perform best when they exercise every day. Despite their heroic warning from years past, they are not often good watchdogs, preferring to greet visitors with a wagging tail. Pugs should be socialized to maintain their friendly nature; they get along well with other animals.

5. Munchkin

A small to a medium-sized cat called a munchkin (sometimes called a "sausage cat") is distinguished by its extremely short legs, which are typically 3 inches shorter than those of a typical cat. Since they are so popular, they are intentionally bred. A genetic abnormality that results in a deficiency in cartilage development is the cause of shorter legs. These social cats are energetic and like running, chasing, and exploring their surroundings.
Munchkin cats are vivacious, enthusiastic, and love to bond with anybody, including dogs, other cats, and people. Additionally, Munchkin cats are delicate, so they don't frequently leap to great heights.

  • Origin: Louisiana, United States
  • Weight: Males (4–5 kg) and females (3–4 kg)
  • Lifespan: 12 to 15 years
  • Cost: RM 2300–4000

6. Maine Coon

The name of these amusing fluff balls comes from North America, particularly Maine. Due to their naturally thick coats, which protected them from the harsh New England winters, they were kept outside as farm cats.
Maine Coon, who is also known as the ‘gentle giant of cats’ are recognized for having a kitten-like demeanor. They are one of the largest cats, yet their voice is surprisingly small.
Maine Coons are excellent additions to big families, whether they be human or feline, as they like interacting with both people and other animals. This breed is ideal if you want a cat that will show you some love when you arrive home since they are highly friendly and enjoy playing.

  • Origin: Maine, United States
  • Weight: Males (5.9–8.2 kg) and females (3.6–5.4 kg)
  • Lifespan: 9 to 15 years
  • Cost: RM 2700–3300

To various individuals, owning a cat might signify different things. Others are content to live with a highly independent cat who spends much of its time outside and doesn't seek a lot of human connection. Some people want a cat to snuggle with them and sit on their laps.
It's crucial that you look for a cat that will engage with you if you ask it to. Since no two cats are exactly alike, how each one interacts with you will rely on its innate nature and its early experiences—or lack thereof—which may make it afraid or confident around humans and in general.

5 Most Common Diseases in Dogs and Cats

While owning a pet is rewarding, be mindful that pet ownership is also a huge responsibility. From allergic to thyroid issues, look at the most common disease that veterinarians treat in their canine and feline patients.

  1. Ringworm (Cat and Dog)

Contrary to its name, ringworm is a fungal infection of the top layers of the skin and hair, not a worm (or even anything caused by a worm). Dermatophytes are the several types of fungus that cause ringworm, and Microsporum canis is the most prevalent one in animals. While usually not harmful, ringworm is very infectious among people, especially among kids, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.

  1. Diabetes (Cat)

Like the human body, the cells in a cat’s body need sugar in the form of glucose for energy. However, glucose in the blood requires insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas, to “unlock” the door to cells.

  1. Arthritis (Cat and Dog)

Both cats and dogs can get arthritis, however in certain cases the site of the disease changes between the two species. Dogs that have arthritis typically experience pain in their hips, shoulders, elbows, knees, wrists, ankles, and spine. Cats with arthritis typically experience pain in their shoulders, hips, elbows, knees, and ankles.

  1. Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD)

Cats' bladder and urethra are affected by a number of disorders together referred to as feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD). The most common symptoms of FLUTD in cats are blood in the urine, increased frequency of urination, and difficulty and pain during peeing. In addition to excessive self-licking, cats with FLUTD may also pee outside of the litter box, frequently on cool, smooth surfaces like a tile floor.

  1. Skin Infection

Your dog may have itching from bacterial and fungal diseases, and their skin may seem dry, flaking, crusty, or wet. Along with persistent health issues like yeast dermatitis or staph infections, redness, inflammation, and odour may also be a problem.

Bottom Line

While common issues such as ear infections and skin allergies are rarely life-threatening, they can be unexpected and expensive. The purpose of pet insurance is to shield you from unforeseen expenses like vet bills. Consider getting pet insurance for peace of mind.

Cat Tail Language: Tails to be told

Felis catus, commonly known as lovable companions (cats) are domesticated carnivores of our family. While some cats live in cozy homes, ferals often secure their hidings in close proximity to human-populated areas.
In recent studies, cats have been found to be more agile than their extended family members such as tigers. They also possess better balance and hunting abilities compared to their longtime rival, dogs!
It is true that cats are often misunderstood as emotionless creatures.  However, stoic expressions are an ordinary trait of felines. While human beings project emotions through human connections and facial expressions, our meowing beans are descendants of wild cats that favour solitary life. This does not mean that cats feel zero emotion. Bodily movements become a way for them to express anger, fear, sadness, joy and happiness.
Although some may look for the pleasant sound of a cat’s purr to distinguish comfort, a cat’s tail has more purpose than we can imagine. Their tails are often used to aid balance, communicate, and express hidden emotions.
Below are ten cat tail signs you may have seen your cuties do! We are starting the list with an extreme end of the spectrum before finishing it up with the cutest tail signs.

10 Cat’s Tail Meanings

The duster: Threatened

Source: Getty Images

When a cat arches its back with its tail all puffed, this is an indication that it feels threatened. Puffed tails are especially apparent during cat fights and when cats come in contact with larger animals. Cats puff their tails to appear bigger and intimidating.

Tucked between back legs: Insecure submissive, fear

Just as humans naturally hunch when we feel inferior, submissive or in pain, cats tend to curl their tails between their back legs when feeling insecure, fearful or ill. If your cat positions its tail as such in the presence of no one, you may want to take it to the vet. If it is due to the presence of strangers, they would naturally curl their tails to appear smaller. Ultimately, hinting a sense of fear.

The whip & trash: Annoyed/aggravated

Whipping or thrashing of the tail (to the ground or sideways) are signs of annoyance and aggravation. You may confuse this with friendliness but it’s best to remember that dog and cat’s tail languages are different. In other words, ignorance of this sign could cause one to be scratched, bitten or hissed at.

Keeping it low: Scared/anxious

Source: Live Long & Pawspurr

Have you seen your cats stick the lower half of their bodies to the ground, especially their tails when guests enter your home? This is a sign of anxiousness. Never attempt to pet cats if you observe this tail sign. Instead, play with them first to build trust.

Twitchy end: Hunting, playing, annoyed

Twitching of the tip of cats’ tails can mean multiple things. It truly depends on a cat’s surrounding and/or environment. While this tail sign can be triggered when playing or hunting, it can also mean that a cat is vexed. It is crucial to look at a cat’s surroundings to see if something is causing its tail to move in this manner and proceed to discard any discomfort.

Self hug: Self-comfort, to feel safe, unwell

Source: Media Storehouse

When a cat wraps its tail around itself while sitting, this demonstrates that he/she is either comforting himself/herself to feel safe or due to sickness. Some may find this tail action adorable but if your cat constantly wraps its tail around its body while sitting, you may want to determine the cause of this behaviour. Your cat is definitely feeling uncomfortable with his/her surroundings or is unwell.

The slow swing: Focused/ interested in something

Tail movements are often minismised when a cat is focused on or distracted by something. Slow swinging of the tail could mean that a cat’s attention is captured by other animals or toys. You may witness a sudden pounce right after!

The straight quivers: Excited, marking

If you have ever encountered a cat that has its tail straight up as it quivers, you are one lucky hooman! This means “I’m excited to see you” in cat language. However, it could also suggest that a cat has marked a place with its urine.

The question mark: Affectionately happy

Source: Yummy Pets

No, this does not mean a cat is confused. The question mark is when a cat has its tail straight up as it curves towards the end. This is a sign of an extremely happy cat that appreciates your presence. If a cat frequently does this to you, you must radiate cat-hooman energy!

Upright!: Assured, confident, happy

Source: Keeping Pet

When kittens greet their mothers, their tails are always positioned (straight) upwards. This symbolises trust and confidence. A cat may also do the same when they encounter people or animals they feel safe and comfortable around.

Conclusion
Although cats’ tails can be very telling at times, never completely depend on them to determine every emotion a cat experiences. Instead, spend more time with your cats to ensure that their needs are met so they can live a healthy and content life.

The most important way to treat allergic dermatitis is to identify the allergen and avoid future contact. Moreover, a veterinarian may prescribe anti-inflammatory and “anti-itch” medications for your dog to prevent the worsening of the condition.

2. Fleas and ticks
Fleas and ticks are the two most common parasites contributing to dog skin problems. Fleas usually infest the surface of dog skin, causing the dog to itch or scratch its body excessively. This would consequently lead to blood loss, bleeding, or hair loss when left untreated for a long time.

On the other hand, ticks are slightly larger compared to fleas. They carry harmful diseases that are highly contagious. When a dog gets a tick bite, it may start showing symptoms of tick-borne diseases such as fatigue, vomiting, and diarrhoea.
